The doctor that delivered Jane had his privileges revoked at both hospitals in town. Apparently while he was delivering a baby, a staff member at one of the hospitals thought he was acting funny and reported him.
The OB claimed that after doing three deliveries in one night, he was simply fatigued and nothing else. The charges against him had no merit.
My aunt was particularly close to this OB and she was outraged at his privileges being revoked. Apparently it was only a matter of hours before his privileges were revoked at the other hospital.
This doctor continued to practice at the Blackfoot hospital, which I affectionately refer to as a band aid station.
It wasn't long before allegations of drug use came out and this doctor opted to move really fast. Considering how it all played out, I'm grateful the worse thing that came from him delivering Jane was that stupid episiotomy.
The family doc that delivered Kate is still delivering here in town. Actually I'll go in greater detail while blogging Ean's birth but this man completely changed how he birthed babies after Kate. He leaned/developed safer techniques geared towards avoiding shoulder dystocia and now holds seminars and classes teaching new doctors his birthing techniques. He's still our family physician.
The doctor that performed the D&C before Jane was conceived committed suicide a few years ago. Even though I didn't like him as a doctor, it truly was a tragedy for his two teenage children he left behind.
